OSCAR pet food cements growth with 100% franchisee pass rate

Chain's franchisees are celebrating after participating in a nine month course to achieve “an advanced knowledge in the complexities of pet nutrition”

OSCAR franchisees have recorded a 100% pass rate in the pet food company’s Certcan Ofqual course in Companion Animal Nutrition, with 99% qualifying with a distinction.

Launched in September 2015, the course required users dedicate four hours of study a week for nine months so they could achieve “an advanced knowledge in the complexities of pet nutrition”.

Claiming to be the first and only pet food company to introduce such a course, the certification allows recipients use the designated letters CertCan (QCF Level 3) after their name, with the first intake of users consisting of over 20% of OSCAR’s network.

Simon Bartholomew, franchise director at OSCAR Pet Foods and chairman of the British Franchise Association, said:

“This is a great achievement for our franchisees and we are proud that they so readily embraced the introduction of the course. With ongoing projects, the additional education provides confidence when advising customers, while helping to cement brand loyalty.”
