Pact Coffee brews up crowd interest with £27,000 Kickstarter round

Startups 100-listed UK coffee delivery service will use funding to put more coffee pods into production

Pact Coffee, listed among the top 20 start-ups in the UK right now, has raised £27,503 in an overfunded crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

A total of 1,862 investors participated in the round with rewards for donations ranging from a box of 40 coffee pods to a roasting master class, and even a trip with the founders to a coffee farm.

Founded in 2012 by Stephen Rapoport, Pact Coffee is a flexible delivery service which brings freshly roasted direct-trade coffee through the letterbox.

The funding will allow the company to launch the production of its first coffee pods, which will be compatible with all Nespresso machines and available in long and short sizes.

On the Kickstarter campaign site, Rapoport said: “We’ve poured our heart and soul into producing a pod that we’re delighted by and prepared to put our name on.

“Now, with your support, I hope we can get our first production run complete and get these pods into your hands and the hands of our customers.”
