Papa John’s boosted by new franchise openings in Harpenden and Leighton Buzzard

Pizza chain is looking for new franchisees to “become part of its success story”

Leading pizza chain Papa John’s has announced the addition of two new franchise outlets in Harpenden and Leighton Buzzard opened by existing franchisee Abdul Sattar Karami.

Karami, who also runs stores in Hitchin, St Albans, Watford, and Hemel Hempstead, said that the new opening is part of his wider long-term strategy to own 40 franchise outlets across the UK.

The news builds upon Papa John’s plans to extend its UK franchise network, with a goal to attract other “enthusiastic franchisees to become part of its success story”.

The pizza brand currently has over 300 franchise outlets across the UK with packages available for an franchise fee of £18,500 + VAT.

It is currently running its “best ever” franchise incentive deal for 2014 – offering a royalty break, free equipment, and marketing spend for new stores opened before the end of 2014 in the Midlands, North East, North West and Scotland.

Serial Papa John’s franchisee Karami commented on his latest venture: “Up until now, I have taken over established stores but both Harpenden and Leighton Buzzard are new outlets.

“Mark Rodgers at HSBC Franchise Finance had absolute belief in the brand and arranged finance for the purchase of the stores.  The opportunity is there to capitalise and grow as the Papa John’s concept becomes even more popular throughout the UK and I’m looking forward to being involved with that expansion.

“I am really looking forward to building my portfolio of Papa John’s stores over the next few years!”
