Deal caps a year of global expansion for business
A start-up that claims to allow e-commerce businesses to send personalised mass emails has received $4m investment this month from a group of European investors.
Founded in 2009 in Copenhagen by Thomas Jensen and Carsten Hydahl, Mojn says its service allows businesses to send mass product emails to millions of recipients whilst targeting them at different audiences.
Its software allows users to create a template, specifying the location of the personalised product section in the email, which is then automatically filled with relevant products for specific user segments.
The $4m backing is a display of faith in the product’s potential, following a year of international growth for the business in which it opened a new headquarters in London.
The deal was led by Dutch venture capital firm Northzone, which has been an early investor in a number of high-profile digital businesses including TrustPilot, Spotify, Avito and Lastminute.com.
Other investors in the round included London-based Notion Capital and Zoar Invest, based in Copenhagen.
The funds will be used for continued global expansion as the business looks to rapidly roll out its software product in a number of different markets.
It follows previous seed funding from Iger Rosenkilde, owner of venture capital firm IMR Holding, who invested $3m of capital over the first five years of the business.
