Pizza delivery chain takes on new franchisee

Papa John’s continues franchise expansion with new recruit Darryl Millar

The world’s third largest pizza company Papa John’s has recruited a new franchisee for its Southend store.

New recruit Darryl Millar, who has a background in property, will manage the store and run the outlet alongside his family.

Millar joins over 200 other UK franchises in the Papa John’s chain. Created by John Schnatter, the company is a multi-national success with approximately 4,000 stores across 33 countries.

The new opening follows the franchise’s recent $2m incentive which offers franchisees launching this year a free oven and point of sale system plus a £10,000 marketing package.

With more than 100 new store openings expected in the next few years, the company has opportunities for potential franchisees throughout the UK, with prices starting from £175,000 to £225,000, across its key sites of Yorkshire, Manchester, West Midlands, East Midlands, South West, North East, Wales and Scotland.

Millar explains why he chose to become a franchisee for the brand:

“Buying the Papa John’s franchise is a long term plan; I am looking forward to building the business and passing on the fruits of my labour to my own children in years to come.”

He also commented that the store will be employed by local staff to encourage community recognition and involvement.

Business development manager of Papa John’s, Anthony Round, added:

“We are looking for franchisees throughout the UK, who, like Darryl, have recognised the potential of running one of our outlets.”
