PopUp Britain to launch first shop outside London

Gloucester-based pop-up store marks first move in enterprise campaign’s national expansion plans

PopUp Britain is set to launch its first pop-up shop outside of London tomorrow.

The pop-up store based in Moreton-in-Marsh in Gloucestershire will offer 12 small businesses the chance to trial their company in a physical retail space.

Following the launch of PopUp Britain’s flagship store in Richmond in July, the campaign has since opened stores in Somerset House and Victoria.

The launch of the Gloucestershire store marks the first in a series of national launches planned by PopUp Britain, which was formed by national enterprise campaign StartUp Britain.

PopUp Moreton will be open for eight weeks from February 1 to March 29, in which time 12 companies will have the opportunity to run their business from the retail space for a fee of £100, which will include rent, insurance and WiFi access. StartUp Britain co-founder Emma Jones claims that this is the beginning of PopUp Britain’s national roll-out. She said: “We are delighted to be able to take our first steps outside London. Watch out for many more coming soon. “Because [the small business owners] share the cost and the space we offer on a short-term basis, they can take advantage of an affordable and manageable opportunity to make sales, test the market and meet customers face to face.”
