The five-a-side soccer company looks set to increase its portfolio following the deal

Powerleague Group plc, one of the UK’s leading commercial five-a-side football centres in the UK, has received £23m of backing.

The soccer company has been backed by Patron Capital Partners, which has parted with its cash in return for a 29% stake in the business.

The strategic partnership is designed to enable Powerleague to take advantage of Patron’s experience in the property sector as well as its global network.

Claude Littner, executive chairman of Powerleague, said: “This strategic partnership with Patron is most welcome and will enable Powerleague to accelerate the next phase of its development.

“By partnering with Patron we are accessing their significant property, retail and leisure experience, as well as extensive land holdings.”
