London-based communications firm works with Arsenal Football Club, Sotheby's and Air France

London PR agency Four Communications (Four) has received £10m equity investment from the Business Growth Fund (BGF).

Founded in 2001, Four provides a range of services including marketing, sponsorship, digital & content, media planning & buying services to companies in the property, travel, culture, healthcare and financial services sectors.

The company, which also has offices in Edinburgh, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, employs over 200 staff and claims to have seen its turnover double from £15m in 2010 to more than £32m in 2014 having bagged clients such as Arsenal Football Club, Sotheby’s and Air France.

The funding will allow Four to make a number of acquisitions in the UK, Middle East and South East Asia.

Nan Williams, chief executive of Four Communications, commented: “This is a very exciting time for our business. In the past few years we have seen significant organic and acquisitive growth. With BGF’s backing, we can take this to the next level in the UK and overseas.”

Chris Hodges of the BGF, who will join Four Communications’ board as part of the deal, added:

“Four’s ambition has driven organic growth in the business which has been enhanced by a series of strategic acquisitions that have expanded the range of services it offers, grown its presence in dynamic market sectors such as travel, property and healthcare, and successfully established its international footprint.

“We’re looking forward to supporting the team in delivering engaging creative work for Four’s clients and taking the business smoothly to the next level of scale.”
