‘Real-time advertising’ firm YD secures €4.6m Series A funding

Investment caps 900% growth since foundation for European tech company

Advertising technology and services firm YD has announced the completion of a €4.6m round of Series A venture capital investment, led by Partech Ventures Berlin.

Founded in 2008, YD is best known for ‘Impulse’, its in-house advertising platform which delivers targeted ads to consumers shopping across the web, determining price, placement and content based on real-time activity data.

It claims its product offers unparalleled buying transparency to marketers by only delivering advertisements to interested consumers for a single fee.

Based in London and Amsterdam, YD’s offering has been particularly popular with the aviation and telecommunications industries, with clients including KLM-Air France, Air Berlin and T-Mobile.

YD has experienced growth of more than 900% since foundation, leading to its listing on a number of fast-growth business indexes including the Red Herring 100 awards and the Deloitte Fast 50.

The €4.6m investment marks the first external funding round for the company, and will be used initially to recruit a larger international sales team and develop YD’s technological offering.

Led by investment firm Partech Ventures Berlin, the Series A round also included backing from Active Venture Partners.

Mendel Senf, chief executive of YD, said: “YD’s partnership with Partech and Active VP opens up a great new network for us to expand our company at a faster rate in our existing markets and in new regions to further consolidate our solid position within the global digital landscape.

“We are proud to run YD with this great team of forward-thinking VCs who share our vision for the future of brand direct digital advertising.”
