Regus announces launch of Plymouth business lounge to cater for local retailers and mobile workers

Express offering at Drake Circus Shopping Centre includes access to desk space, meetings rooms, and ‘Thinkpods’

Regus has continued its expansion in 2015 with its latest Regus Express opening at Plymouth’s Drake Circus Shopping Centre, a workspace facility intended to support local retailers, business owners and mobile workers.

The latest in a series of ‘third places’ across the UK, the new flexible office offers access to drop-in co-working spaces, meeting rooms, and private workstations called ‘Thinkpods’ along with access to WiFi and refreshments.

Available on a pay-as-you-go basis of a minimum £5 an hour, Regus intends for the space to be used by some of the many local brands within the shopping centre, as well as entrepreneurs looking for a quite place to work and consumers who need to take work calls or check emails.

The launch is one of a series of Express deals with shopping centres and parks in the UK, with other business lounges recently opened in Meadowhall, Sheffield and Broughton Shopping Park in Chester with another planned for Fort Kinnaird Shopping Park in Edinburgh.

The site will compliment Plymouth’s growing range of co-working sites and office spaces which are listed in the Start-up Cities index of 2014.

Head of Third Place at Regus, Phil Kemp, commented: “We know that more and more people are working flexibly, instead of the traditional 9-5 in the office. Regus Express is all about making it possible to work anywhere, so where better to open a business centre than at a major retail centre.

“This centre caters for a range of users, including the retail tenants of Drake Circus; local home-workers and freelancers looking for a more professional environment; mobile workers such as sales teams; and corporate employees who work remotely for some of the week.”
