SETsquared company recognised as leading new technology business

Blu Wireless Technology wins regional start-up award

Bristol-based Blu Wireless Technology has been named as one of five winners of the Cambridge Wireless Discovering Start-Ups 2011 competition.

The company’s low power 60GHz semiconductor technology, which aims to solve consumer demand for increasingly bandwidth-hungry electronic products, impressed judges representing companies such as Microsoft, RIM, Nokia and O2. Based in the Business Acceleration Centre run by the university enterprise collaboration partnership SETsquared, the company will receive £2,000 and free business and consultancy services. It will also have the opportunity to present its business visions and new technologies at the 2012 Future of Wireless International Conference in June 2012. Having already secured seed funding, Blu Wireless Technology is discussing a Series A funding round for the business.
