“Significant investment” for pre-launch property platform BrickVest

Funding from Global Founders Capital follows recent $1m round for start-up which allows investors to build online real estate portfolios

BrickVest, a London property platform set to launch later this year, has secured “significant investment” from Global Founders Capital (GFC) – the venture capital (VC) arm of Rocket Internet.

The deal, which comes just three months after the company raised $1m from 20 investors from the real estate and tech space, makes GFC the lead angel investor in BrickVest.

Founded by Dr. Thomas Schneider, Emmanuel Lumineau and Adalbert Wysocki, BrickVest will connect investors with property owners and developers via its online platform to offer direct access to the European and North American real estate markets for a minimum investment of €1,000.

It intends to introduce better transparency and reduce the costs of sourcing, structuring and managing real estate portfolios.

BrickVest’s Lumineau commented: “We’re thrilled to have Global Founders Capital back our business proposition ahead of the launch and it is testament to our vision and strategy that they have decided to do so.

“Real estate investment services have been closed off to a majority of investors for too long and our platform can deliver these services to a wider audience.”
Oliver Samwer, founder and CEO of Rocket Internet, added:

“We’re always looking for strong teams which work well with us and grow a start-up into a successful business – especially in a growing field like financial technology.

“BrickVest […] can cause a paradigm shift to how real-estate investment takes place across the globe.”
