Silicon Valley Bank recruits Bindi Karia to boost UK early-stage client base

Venture Capital/Emerging Business Lead at Microsoft set to join bank’s London branch in 2013

Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) has hired Bindi Karia to lead the UK branch’s efforts in the early-stage tech space.

Earlier this year America’s leading commercial bank for the innovation sector launched in the UK, where Karia is due to take on a newly created role in January 2013.   Karia is set to leave Microsoft UK, where she currently holds the role of venture capital/ emerging business lead.

She will use her experience of driving Microsoft into the early-stage technology market to encourage tech start-ups to bank with SVB, which focuses primarily on technology, life science, cleantech, venture capital, private equity and premium wine businesses.

Karia commented: “As a commercial bank that is focused solely on the innovation space and entrepreneurs, Silicon Valley Bank’s offering is entirely unique in the UK market.

“I am excited to join the team and relish the opportunity to continue to support emerging technology businesses. This is, of course, where my passion lies and I cannot wait to join the team and share my vision to drive the business forward.”
