Social media marketing agency Social Chain clinches $2m investment

Manchester-based marketing agency is planning major expansion into Germany with opening of Berlin office

Social Chain, a social media marketing agency which can make anything a trending topic on Twitter within 30 minutes, has completed a $2m Series A funding round led by German talent management firm NVC.

Founded in 2014 by young entrepreneurs Steve Bartlett and Dominic McGregor, Manchester-based Social Chain owns more than 300 of the largest social media communities in Europe, which it claims allows it to communicate with an audience of over 200 million through video, images and events.

Its team, which has an average age of 22, has worked with major global brands including hungryhouse, Spotify and Comedy Central.

Social Chain will use the investment to break into new overseas markets, expand its Manchester office and launch in Germany with the opening of a Berlin office this spring.

Steve Bartlett, CEO of Social Chain, commented: “Germany is an emerging powerhouse, currently having the strongest economy in Europe and the second largest from an ad spend point of view.

“Syncing with NVC in Berlin will enable us to gain access to their high profile influencers and drive the business forward overseas.”
