What’s great about starting a business in Leicester?
Its central location and the use of city facilities. We were able to grow our business via city contacts and by making use of Lancashire County Council (LCC) city council offerings. Our core target was to tap into energy client change, carbon reduction & energy efficiency obligations from Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) and local city council and county councils so being able to connect with our local council was a huge benefit.

DOCK offers meetings and training, plus networking events with important business contacts, such as Liz Kennel MP, who would otherwise have been outside our business network.

There are a number of different networking facilities in the city, we prefer local BMi meetings and going to networking events and conferences run by Leicester College.
Where do you take a client for a business lunch?
If we’re looking for something formal and impressive for a business client meeting, we choose a good hotel – the Leicester Marriott Hotel is one good example.
Where’s great for a company night out?
For a company night out, we would definitely head to the West End; any number of bars or clubs there will offer a great work night out.
