Startups 100-ranked employee benefits business Perkbox picks up £6.6m

Previously backed by tennis star Andy Murray, Perkbox will use the latest injection of cash to expand worldwide

Startups 100-ranked employee benefits business Perkbox has raised another £6.6m, in a funding round led by previous backers Draper Esprit.

Launched in 2015 by Saurav Chopra and Chieu Cao, Perkbox helps small businesses offer their employees benefits by giving them access to over 200 ‘perks’ including food and entertainment vouchers, free phone insurance, discounted travel, movie tickets and more.

Furthermore, it also provides an online rewards & recognition system for managers, which helps them suitably and sufficiently reward their staff via digital badges.

Last October, Perkbox raised £2.5m – which included backing from world tennis star Andy Murray via crowdfunding site Seedrs.

Just over two years old, Perkbox already counts the likes of British Gas, Holland & Barrett, WorldPay and AXA among its clients, with said businesses boasting a 50% reduction in staff turnover.

Perkbox will use the latest injection of cash to expand worldwide.

Chopra said:

“The need for employee engagement is global and progressive countries and employers understand their most important assets are their people. There’s a lot to do outside the UK.

“Helping them stretch their salaries further is a lot more cost effective than giving a salary raise.”
