Success for Tails and Social Chain following Startups 100 2016 wins
Dog-food company Tails has doubled sales while social media marketing agency Social Chain has announced its expansion in Berlin
Just one week after featuring in the prestigious Startups 100 2016 index of the UK’s top 100 best and brightest new businesses, fast-growth start-ups Tails.com and Social Chain are celebrating new milestones.
Dog food delivery business Tails, which ranked at number 14 in the index, has announced that it has seen its sales jump by 120% in the last six months and says that it now has “tens of thousands of dogs on its books”. The start-up has also released its first brand film – Feed Different – which was directed by BAFTA-nominated Gary Tarn and narrated by Sir Michael Gambon.
Tapping into the £2bn pet food market, London-based Tails offers tailor-made dog food based on each dog’s individual nutritional needs and is backed by the founders of Innocent, LOVEFiLM, and graze. Find out more about the start-up here.
Also celebrating success this week is Manchester-based social media marketing agency Social Chain, featured at number 12 in the Startups 100, which has officially opened the doors of its Berlin office. The company’s roll-out into Germany will be headed up by new Berlin managing director Matthias Schmid. Schmid will be looking to develop strong European connections, before furthering Social Chain’s international expansion.
Founded by young entrepreneurs Steven Bartlett and Dominic McGregor, Social Chain works with social influencers in the UK to control online conversations and generate campaigns for clients such as ASOS, Microsoft and Disney. Read more about the start-up here.
