Startups Awards 2014 entry deadline extended

UK’s best and brightest start-ups now have until September 26 to apply

Following higher-than-expected demand, the entry deadline for the 2014 Startups Awards has been extended by two weeks to Friday 26 September.

Now entering its 11th year, the Startups Awards recognises the UK’s most innovative, disruptive and exciting businesses launched in the last three years, with a peerless pedigree in identifying the next batch of UK household name businesses time and time again.

Previous winners which have gone on to enjoy global success and renown have included Naked Wines, The Cambridge Satchel Company, Notonthehighstreet.com and Secret Escapes.

The 11th Startups awards is set to be the biggest yet, with two new category awards – Independent Shop of the Year and Restaurant of the Year – taking the total number of accolades available to 15.

The awards are open to UK-based companies launched on or after 1 August 2011, and entrants will be judged by a panel of 21 high-profile business figures, including Paul Lindley of Ella’s Kitchen, Laura Tenison MBE of Jojo Maman Bébé, Michael Hayman MBE of Seven Hills and Startup Britain and Mumsnet founder Justine Roberts.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place at the prestigious Kensington Roof Gardens on 27 November.

Startups.co.uk founder David Lester commented: “If you are proud of what your business has achieved then take a look at the Startups Awards– there are a wide variety of categories and the recognition gained from just taking part, let alone winning, is so valuable.

“With a high level of entries received already, my advice to anyone thinking of entering is to do so as soon as possible.”

Entries for the Awards will close at midnight on the 26th of September. To enter or find our more, click here.
