Startups.co.uk has today revealed the names of the 35 outstanding UK start-ups selected as finalists of the Startups Awards 2014.

Established in 2004, the annual Startups Awards identifies and celebrates the achievements of the most exciting, innovative British businesses aged three years and under.

15 award categories are on offer this year including Product Business of the Year and Crowdfunded Business of the Year, alongside new categories for 2014 – Restaurant of the Year and Independent Shop of the Year.

Chosen from hundreds of entrants, the shortlisted finalists will now be judged by a panel of industry leaders including Chemist Direct founder Mitish Soma, Mumsnet co-founder and CEO Justine Roberts, tech entrepreneur and investor Dale Murray CBE, and restaurateur Iqbal Wahhab OBE.

The overall winner of the top prize, the Simply Business Startups Business of the Year, will be judged and selected from the winners of the other categories.

Winners will be announced at the 11th Startups Awards ceremony held at the prestigious Kensington Roof Gardens on Thursday November 27.

Former winners of the Startups Awards have gone on to become leading UK brands such as Notonthehighstreet.com, The Cambridge Satchel Company, Chemist Direct, Ella’s Kitchen and BeatThatQuote.com, which was sold to Google for £37.7m.
