Startups’ digital advertising competition value triples to £135k – winners announced!

Hundreds entered and with so many awesome candidates, Eyetease and Verifone Media have decided to award THREE £45,000 digital advertising campaigns

We can today reveal who has won the incredible digital advertising prize offered by VeriFone Media, global leaders in taxi media solutions, and taxi-top advertising technology company Eyetease, in conjunction with Startups.co.uk.

The huge news is they were so impressed with the high quality of entrants that they’ve chosen THREE winners who will each win a £45,000 advertising campaign to run across London.

Mobile booking app YPlan, overall winner of the 2013 Startups Awards, low-cost gym service PayAsUGym.com, featured in the 2013 Startups 100, and fellow Startups 100 company, food delivery specialists, Hello Fresh will each receive a package of ad slots to be displayed across VeriFone’s digital taxi network to broadcast to 1.4m Londoners.

The taxi media specialists will provide a fleet of five London taxis to broadcast each of the winner’s campaigns from their iTaxiTop high definition, LCD roof-mounted, double-sided screens.

Selected from well over 200 start-up entries, the three winning businesses will each get one ad slot and their ad is guaranteed to play 90,000 times (18,000 per taxi) across a two week period, delivering the ad to an audience of over 400,000 people.

In addition, the three successful start-ups are each getting a 30 second ad slot on 2,500 VeriFone Media in-cab screens, equating to an audience of over one million taxi passengers viewing the ad!

VeriFone Media vice president and general manager, Mark Roberts, commented: “Working with start-ups and adopting new disruptive technologies is an integral part of our business.

“We are really proud to be working with Eyetease and Startups.co.uk to bring the power of our digital taxi media formats to disruptive start-ups who are innovating in their industry.

“With the ability to reach millions of Londoners over a one month period using the iTaxitop and in-cab screens, each wining start-up will catapult their business to the centre stage and hopefully grow, create more jobs and ultimately benefit the British economy as a whole!”

Richard Corbett, founder of 2012 Startups Top 20 index company and Startups 100 winner Eyetease, continued:

“The British start-up scene is incredible. With more than 200 high quality start-ups applying for this competition, it is testimony to the creativity, ambition and entrepreneurial spirit of the Great British public.

“What was clear from reading the applications was the sheer volume of ground-breaking new products and services being created here in the UK.”

Editorial director of Startups.co.uk, Ian Wallis, added:

“We had some unbelievably good businesses applying and to be able to name three winners rather than one is absolutely fabulous news for readers and demonstrates exactly what we’re here for – to help small businesses flourish.

“We’re delighted for the winners of Verifone and Eyetease’s huge prize. The advertising campaigns will be a massive shot in the arm for Hello Fresh, PayAsYouGym and YPlan and we’ll be fascinated to monitor the impact of the exposure to so many potential customers.”
