Storage container office network Containerville announces first tenants

Low-cost converted units on Regents Canal intended as flexible start-up space

The Estate Office Shoreditch (EOS) today announced the opening of Containerville, a new start-up workspace made up of converted storage containers.

Located on the south bank of the Regent’s Canal in East London, Containerville is offering space to “dynamic young creatives” in search of affordable work space in which to grow their entrepreneurial business.

The converted storage containers can be rented as a whole unit for £1200 per month, and individual desks are on offer for £320 per person per month. Up to five people can work inside a single container.

EOS said Containerville is intended to create a “dynamic hub” of start-ups and small businesses working in the technology, creative and design industries.

Around a third of the containers have already been pre-let, which EOS said demonstrated the level of demand for the spaces. Viewings are currently taking place for the remaining units.

Phil Bouette, development manager at EOS, said: “We are delighted with the responses we have received since announcing the ContainerVille concept back in May.

“This week marks a special occasion for us; not only is ContainerVille officially opening its doors for business but we are welcoming our first tenants to their new office space and community.”
