Segura gets £2m Octopus backing to improve retail supply chains
London-based supply chain protection start-up will use Series A investment to develop its technology
Segura Systems, a specialist in supply chain protection, has closed a £2m Series A round led by Octopus Investment.
Founded in 2012, London-based Segura provides cloud-based supply chain visibility software to customers across the retail, automotive and construction industries, which promises to map, safeguard and trace every order through to delivery.
Major high-street retailers, such as Debenhams and Reiss, use the software to create an audit trail and protect themselves against unethical and non-compliant suppliers.
The funding will be used to improve the company’s current technology and add new hires to its team.
Peter Needle, CEO and co-founder of Segura Systems, commented: “In recent years consumers have begun to ask more of their retailers – people want to know that the goods they’re buying have been ethically and responsibly produced.”
Malcolm Ferguson of Octopus Ventures added:
“When we met Segura Systems, we were impressed with both their technology and the brands they are already working with.”
