T-Mobile and O2 promote flexible working with new initiatives

Mobile providers run individual campaigns to cut small business costs

T-Mobile has launched two new offers to help start-up and micro-businesses cut their costs. Until May 31, business customers signing up to an 18 or 24-month mobile broadband plan will receive three months free – on both the £15-a-month/1GB package and £30-a-month package, which provides a data allowance of up to 3GB. The mobile provider is also offering a 25% discount on all 30-day SIM-only plans, on a one-year contract. The offerings tie in with the latest initiative from O2, which is encouraging entrepreneurs to run leaner companies. This week, O2’s flexible working campaign saw the company suspend a small business worker in mid-air, over east London’s Silicon Roundabout – to demonstrate that, with the right tools and technologies, you truly can work anywhere. Explaining the initiative, Claire Darley, head of sales for O2 Small Businesses, said: “For small business teams or entrepreneurs flying solo, the ability to remain connected to their business at all times is essential. “By keeping costs low and employees agile, implementing effective flexible working practices is increasingly important for small British companies.”
