A franchisee for TaxAssist Accountants has celebrated a 56% increase in business over the last year, on the back of referrals alone.

Lloyd Evans, who joined the independent accountancy chain in 2012, operates across Wolverhampton and Kingswinford in the West Midlands and has expanded his portfolio to almost 700 small businesses and individuals.

He claims his recent success has been buoyed by an increase in local businesses needing help filing their tax returns, as more businesses have opted to file online rather than use paper submissions.

Established in 1995, TaxAssist Accountants claims to be the UK’s largest network of independent accountants specifically targeted at helping small businesses and the self-employed.

With over 200 franchises in the UK and Ireland, the bfa-accredited chain is keen for budding entrepreneurs to join its fast-growing brand and has franchise opportunities available for a fee of £36,950 +VAT.

On his franchise success to date, Evans commented:

“Over the years we’ve developed a reputation locally for our jargon-free advice and the support we give small businesses and start-ups, which helps free up their time to do what they do best – run their businesses.

“Our business grows through word of mouth recommendations.”
