Tech Pitch: eet

Startups gets a brief insight into the app which allows you to "un-plan" your dining experience...

Company name: eet
Founder: Ali Meruani (32)
Background: Banking and consulting
Based in: Euston

Very simply what does you tech start-up do?

eet informs users of how busy London restaurants and bars are. They can just tap the app and head on out. There is no longer a need to wait in line or call up restaurants last minute.

Tell us why there is a need – what do you disrupt?

People are more likely to walk into restaurants and bars than make a reservation. In a place like London-which is both busy and massive-eet brings the convenience of knowing what is happening at nearby locations to your mobile phone.

All restaurant information (menu, hours, mapped location, reviews and pictures) can all be found on eet. We want to disrupt the restaurant reservation market by making it easier for diners to discover new places and to un-plan their dining experience.

Are you funded?

Yes. eet is currently raising a private round of £300,000, which will close shortly.

What were you doing before starting?

Prior to eet I was in business school at LBS and before that I worked in NYC in banking and consulting.

What’s the best thing about where you’re based?

We’re based in co-working space the Euston Office which is open 24 hours and I get to walk to work!
