Very simply, what does your tech start-up do?

Muzeit is a music discovery app which enables users to share and discover new music with their friends. The app lets users access their friend’s music libraries enabling them to view, share, stream and download songs instantly.

The app also provides new music recommendations based on what connections are listening to allowing music enthusiasts to discover the latest trends and artists.

Tell us why there’s a need – what do you disrupt?

We all love listening to music on the go, but can often find ourselves listening to the same old songs time and time again. Muzeit allows you to both discover the latest trending hits and rediscover old tracks which bring back your favourite memories.

Muzeit lets you see what your friends are listening to and discover new artists or genres by delving into their music libraries. It provides recommendations based on songs you’ll love based on what’s trending with your friends and with the people you follow – and if you like the song, you can stream it or download it directly in the app to keep in your music library forever.

You can also share your music recommendations with friends by utilising the inbox function in the app or sharing on your favourite social platform.

Are you funded?

Muzeit is currently funded, however we are open to investment from venture capitalists or other investors.

What were you doing before starting?

Although Muzeit is my latest project, it is not my first. I’ve set up and invested in a wide range of music, technology and telecoms businesses in the past, most notably Shazam – the world’s biggest music identification app.

I’ve always been drawn to the area where music meets technology and the power of music to bring people together around the world.

It’s because of this that I’ve always been keen to create a business which helps people share their favourite songs, form new connections and discover amazing new music they might not have even considered before.

What’s the best thing about where you’re based?

I love London and chose it as our HQ due to its forward-thinking tech scene and vibrant music culture. London is a city full of young, tech-savvy professionals who are always after the next big thing – however they also know how to have a good time. London’s nightclubs are some of the best in the world and many of the best music artists of all time have based themselves in London.

We also value the capital's diversity, with the city playing a key role in the music industry. Every street, bar and café offers a variety of backgrounds, music, culture and influences which all adds to the incredible mix of music which the city has to offer.
