Very simply, what does your tech start-up do?
Noddlepod is an online learning tool which helps groups or communities of people to learn together and share their knowledge more effectively.
Tell us why there’s a need – what do you disrupt?
Information overload can be a real problem for group-based learning and Noddlepod helps groups of learners to share relevant content using a safe, private online system. It makes learning more engaging and helps learners achieve more.
Are you funded?
We’ve just secured funding from Finance Wales and four angel investors. Finance Wales’ funding came from the Wales Technology Seed Fund, a Welsh Government fund launched last year to help technology start-ups like uscommercialise innovative new products, services and technologies.
We’re going to start selling Noddlepod to business schools and leadership development providers.
What were you doing before starting?
Having worked for other companies for a number of years, we decided to start our own company. Learning and development has always been a key career focus.
We combined our skills and knowledge to come up with the idea for Noddlepod and develop it.
What’s the best thing about where you’re based?
We’re based at Welsh ICE in Caerphilly, which is home to many different start-ups and a great environment. It has a real family feel to it and there are lots of like-minded people we can call upon for help and advice if we need it.
One of the biggest benefits of being based in Wales is that we’ve been able to access the right sort of funding we needed to grow our business.
