TruGreen opens first Northern Ireland franchises

Lawn care franchise TruGreen continues expansion plans, signing two new franchisees to cover the west of Northern Ireland

TruGreen, the world’s largest lawn care company, recently added Northern Ireland to its network by signing on brothers Alan and Trevor Lynch.

The two brothers – who started on December 1 – come from an agricultural background and are looking forward to applying their skills to operate the lawn care service throughout Derry, Tyrone and Fermanagh.

TruGreen is a US franchise, founded in 1973, which came to the UK in 1990. The company belongs to Service Limited, who also own ServiceMaster Clean, Merry Maids and Furniture Medic, and currently has 400 franchise units in the UK.

A TruGreen franchise operates in two elements, you can purchase a licence for £6,995 plus VAT, which includes training as well as the licence. Alternatively you can invest in a package, which costs a total investment of £24,995, of which £7,498 must be found by the franchisee. This includes training, marketing and equipment costs.

TruGreen’s operation brand manager Steve Welch commented on the Northern Ireland expansion:

“Trevor and Alan have all the right characteristics to run a successful TruGreen franchise.

“As our first franchise in Northern Ireland, we are optimistic about the success that the TruGreen brand will have and the value of the service to customers.”
