Four tech start-ups chosen to represent the UK in Silicon Valley

Finalists for the second SEC2SV programme have been announced and will now bid for sales, funding and collaboration opportunities

Four UK technology start-ups have been selected to join 14 other European companies as finalists for the second Startup Europe Comes to Silicon Valley (SEC2SV) programme.

From September 12 to 20, the start-ups will have the chance to meet with major players in the US market in a bid for sales, funding and collaboration opportunities.

The four tech businesses chosen to represent the UK in Silicon Valley are:

  • Meniga – A fintech start-up providing personal finance software for European banks and financial institutions
  • Metail – A fashion technology company enabling consumers to try on clothes online by uploading three basic body measurements
  • PCA Predict – An address validation platform that helps boost business efficiency by quickly completing consumer’s addresses
  • Stream Technologies – The company develops IoT-X – a connectivity enablement, management and billing platform

Dennis Moynihan, UK director of EIT Digital, commented: “The UK has a huge wealth of smart, savvy and innovative digital scale-ups and seeing such a good representation of British businesses selected for the Silicon Valley programme is great news.

“We’ve already seen impressive results from the startups that participated in SEC2SV 2015 […] I expect equally impressive results from this year’s cohort.”
