University-based start-up Go Dine gets backing from serial entrepreneur

Graduate Adam Roberts secures £320,000 from Graham Leslie for restaurant booking website

Go Dine, founded by Nottingham Trent University graduate Adam Roberts has signed a £320,000 deal with serial entrepreneur Graham Leslie.

The cash will support Roberts as he grows his online restaurant booking guide Go Dine, which was developed with support from Nottingham Trent University’s purpose-built centre for entrepreneurship and enterprise named the Hive.

The founder of the UK’s biggest supplier of non-prescription medicine Galpharm International Ltd and a former chairman of Huddersfield Town Football Club, Leslie will provide the criminology graduate with a smaller initial investment, followed by the remainder of the £320,000 sum in six months’ time.

Using the investment, Roberts, 29 aims to completely re-launch his website, and grow the business by increasing the staff base and expanding upon its directory of restaurants.

Commenting on the investment, Roberts said “We’re delighted to have completed the deal. I always knew that we deserved a chance like this but it’s hard to get in front of the right people.   “It’s a real compliment to have the backing and support from someone like Graham Leslie.”
