Why FSB is launching a membership category for pre-startups this spring
One in 10 adults plan to start a business in 2017. Dave Stallon explains the thinking behind the Federation of Small Businesses' pre-startup membership
FSB Business Creation, launching in spring 2017, will give its members unlimited telephone access to a team of new business advisors, networking opportunities, and a whole range of other exclusive benefits and services.
A new type of membership offer from the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), it has been developed to meet the particular needs of new entrepreneurs and those about to establish a business, to assist them in getting their venture off the ground.
The UK has always been – and continues to be – a hub of innovators, risk takers, and business savvy leaders. The UK has more entrepreneurs that any other European country. In 2016, there were over 581,000 new business start-ups. More people than ever view starting a business as a positive career choice, seeing good opportunities.
FSB Business Creation benefits
By becoming part of FSB Business Creation, members will have available to them the expertise and benefits that come with belonging to the UK’s biggest and most respected business organisation.
Our research shows that having access to an expert business advisor and having strong networking opportunities are the two most valuable benefits we could offer to these new members, and so we have made these key parts of our offer.
Business Creation advisors will be there to help would-be entrepreneurs and business owners with their individual situations and concerns because we recognise that there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ way when it comes to starting up.
A specially developed bundle of further benefits will include everything from company formation; domain name registration; and website build, to access to market entry reports; copies of ‘First Voice’, FSB’s flagship quarterly publication, and a new FSB edition of Wiley book Starting a Business.
Business Creation members will also be included in FSB’s Big Voice panel and have access to other exclusive discounted FSB products and services: FSB business banking, FSB insurance, FSB card payment services and products, for example.
