Wi-Fi software provider GlobalReach gets $5m funding boost

London-based start-up will invest in recruitment and technology as it continues global expansion

GlobalReach Technology, a UK-based Wi-Fi software provider, has completed a $5m funding round led by small business lender BOOST&CO.

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in London, GlobalReach supplies wireless management technology, tools and analytics to global wireless service providers to help them manage their Wi-Fi products and services.

Its technology includes Odyssys; a cloud-based platform that connects devices and provides secure authentication and Passpoint Hotspot 2.0; an online sign-up server for operating systems.

The company – which also has offices in the US, Australia and Mexico – currently supports Wi-Fi on the London Underground, and works with a growing international customer base which includes BT, Level 3, Virgin Media and Vodafone.

The funding will be used for product development and to fuel recruitment and operations during the next stage of international expansion.

Mark Williamson, CEO of GlobalReach Technology, said: “GlobalReach has seen rapid growth in demand for its carrier grade Wi-Fi software.  We are excited to build on our proven technology, deployed in some of the most challenging wireless networks, and grow the business into its next phase to meet customer demand.”
