Tell us what your business does:

Withoomph offers affordable and inspiring logos to everyone, but our main target will be new businesses and sole traders. One search will reveal hundreds of applicable logo results in beautiful colour palettes.

Where did the idea for your business come from?

There is a huge gap in the market for quality but affordable logos. There have been previous attempts to break into this market but they have failed, we have spent four years creating the specialist technology to offer logos using a combination of typographic elements, colour palettes and icons.

How did you know there was a market for it?

There are currently thousands of start-ups and this market is set to continue growing.  Everyday new businesses launch and very few hold the budget for a design agency or freelancer. Withoomph is here to service the self-starting entrepreneurs who are ready to launch and want to build a strong identity within a budget.

What were you doing before starting up?

We both come from different backgrounds, which has been great in helping us launch the business. Our previous roles were as a freelance PR and creative director and as a web developer.

Have you always wanted to run your own business?

Yes, we have always wanted to launch our own company.

How did you raise the money?

We have bootstrapped the whole business and we continue to work part-time until it grows.

Describe your business model and how you make money:

Our online logo generator reveals thousands of inspiring logos to the entrepreneur; once they choose one, the customer pays the relevant fee that ranges from £25 to £70.

What challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them?

There have been many challenges not least finding the most dedicated technical director and since then Ormisher has faced the most challenges building Withoomph.

What was your first big breakthrough?

Meeting our developer, as after we talked with Dan we realised that he was the missing link in helping us build the version of a logo generator that we wanted.

What advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

Do not give up if you believe in something, but be prepared to let your start-up takeover your life.

Where do you want to be in five years’ time?

We want our start-up to be one of the biggest online businesses in the world.
