Xero adds new features to accounting and payroll software

Small businesses now able to manage inventory, create online quotes and view financial files side-by-side

Cloud-based accountancy and payroll software provider Xero has added three new features to its platform to help small firms manage everyday functions.

Said to reflect a “new wave of cloud innovation”, small business owners can now manage inventory with real-time tracking, create online quotes and estimates and view financial transaction files side-by-side.

The fresh round of features from the New Zealand-based software company follows increasing competition from rival cloud accountancy  providers Sage, Intuit, Clear Books, Kashflow, Crunch, Brightpearl and FreeAgent.

Xero CEO, Rod Drury, commented: “With today’s features, Xero now enables small businesses to run and grow in the cloud.

“Today we’ve not only matched all the features of traditional desktop software, but taken it beyond in terms of ease-of-use, mobility, value and performance. This is about ensuring more small businesses have the opportunity to succeed through a constant wave of innovation.”
