YapJobs raises £1m less than six months after launch

London-based app matches people seeking work in hospitality with a suitable working environment

YapJobs, a hospitality jobs app, has secured £1.4m in funding from a number of private investors and angel Ziad Tassabehji – who also joins as chairman.

Launched in November 2015, YapJobs aims to match jobseekers looking for work in the hospitality sector with a work environment and company culture that suits them.

In the last sixt months, the London-based company claims to have processed more than 50,000 job applications for businesses ranging from The Ivy to Costa Coffee.

Shahzad Ali, CEO of YapJobs, commented:

“I grew up in the heat of a restaurant and know that the people employed are the lifeblood of the service industry, but I also know how the wrong environment can make it a very difficult place to work which has an impact on staff retention.

“That’s why I launched YapJobs, to help the best people find work quickly in the places that they really want to work.”
