Young Guns 2018 deadline extended: apply to join UK’s top young entrepreneurs

Successful young entrepreneur running a fast growth UK business? You now have until 8 June to apply to become part of Young Guns Class of 2018

Are you an exceptional young UK entrepreneur with big ambitions? Is your business turning over £1m or more, or have you manged to secure £1m+ in funding? Then listen up…

The entry deadline for the Young Guns Class of 2018 has now been extended to 8 June, giving you another week to join the ranks of the top entrepreneurs aged 35 and under behind 30 of the UK’s fastest growing business.

Enter the Young Guns 2018.

Sponsored by Lloyds Bank and chartered accountants and tax advisers haysmacintyre, this is the 16th year for the prestigious awards.

Being a Young Gun puts you in illustrious company. The 480-strong alumni features some of Britain’s best and brightest entrepreneurs including co-founder Holly Tucker MBE, Deliveroo founder Will Shu, shoe designer Sophia WebsterJemma Fennings and Lesa Bennett of watch brand Olivia Burton (which was acquired by JLB brands in 2017), and Mind Candy founder Michael Acton-Smith MBE

The final 2018 cohort will be announced on September 28 2018 with successful businesses invited to attend an exclusive lunch and networking event with alumni, journalists and sponsors.

The Class of 2017 included Pip Murray, founder of Pip & Nut; Aron Gelbard from Bloom & Wild;Oliver Bridge from Cornerstone, Apprentice-winner Joseph Valente, and PensionBee’s Romi Savova and Jonathan Lister.

As well as the 30 business that make up the Class of 2018, a further five businesses are selected as Young Guns Ones to Watch for showing outstanding potential for future growth.

A Young Gun from the 2018 cohort will also bechosen to be the haysmacintyre Top Gun, the entrepreneur that the judges feel stands out the most from the pack. Jamie Bolding of digital media company Jungle Creations was last year’s winner, having become the fifth most watched media property in the world.

For Young Guns alumni, one member who has shown exceptional achievement and growth will be chosen to be the Lloyds Bank Golden Gun. In 2017, this accolade was awarded to Greg Marsh and Tim Davey from Onefinestay – the luxury online home rental service, which was acquired by French hotel Group AccorHotels in a deal worth a reported £117m in 2016.

As well as joining the exlusive club of prominent business leaders, Young Guns will be invited to exclusive networking events, lunches, and drinks throughout the year.
