John Booth’s Falkirk Mac Tools was recognised as particularly special after several award wins within the franchise space, including a double win as Mac Tools Franchise of the Year. Moreover, in 2011, Booth generated double the sales figures in comparison with the average sales across the Mac Tools network. After starting the new business at the age of 50, Booth rose to the top of the 100 strong franchise network within his first year. Now in his third year, his franchise continues to go from strength to strength.

Judges’ comments:

The judges were blown away by how successful the winner had been in such as short space of starting the franchise. Not only were turnover and profit suitably impressive for such a young business but the owner had practically swept the board winning a number of awards from the franchisor where he was up against similar franchises that had been established many years.
