When Edward Pockney started trading at the Uxbridge branch of Driver Hire in November 2014 it was positioned 95th in the Driver Hire Network, today it is the ninth best performing operation in the network and has reached impressive seven-figure revenues.

Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, Driver Hire Uxbridge supplies temporary and “temp to perm” lorry & car drivers, forklift, warehouse operatives and clerical staff to businesses on the UB postcode area.

It also offers last minute spot hire, planned cover for holidays or regular ongoing bookings and provides staff to help firms such as builders’ merchants and parcel delivery companies cover their seasonal peaks.

Having come into the world of recruitment and logistics with no experience, former money broker Pockney credits his branch’s stellar growth to the positive relationships it forms with both clients and drivers from the start.

He’s also keen to commend his “highly motivated” staff, who speak Polish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Spanish and German between them and are able to help the branches’ multi-lingual workforce understand the requirements of UK transport law and business.
