The HonestBrew story:

The UK has experienced something of a craft beer explosion in recent years, with consumers turning away from mass produced, mainstream fare and discovering the huge variety of types and tastes on offer from the world’s microbreweries.

A number of start-ups have sprung up to help drinkers navigate this new world of porters, stouts, IPAs and ales, but HonestBrew is one of the few to provide a personalised service matching beers to a customer’s individual taste. 

Customers create an online profile which specifies their preferences to receive a tailored box, delivered to their door – as often as they like. HonestBrew works with over 50 breweries from around the world to source beers you won’t find at the local Tesco, and since launch in 2014 has reached thousands of customers and subscribers.

Currently growing at a steady 28% month-on-month, the company is well placed to capitalise on a rapidly expanding and shifting market. Craft beer consumption is increasing by 79% a year with home consumption passing sales at restaurants and bars for the first time in the UK’s history last year.
