People’s Champion finalist 2016: Orderella
Bringing convenience to consumers and additional revenue to businesses – Will Orderella be your People’s Champion?
Start-up name: Orderella
Founder: Dennis Collet, Michael Thomas Zeitler, Christopher Friese, and Arlen Vart
Started in: 2013
Based in: London
Business description: Venue ordering platform which enables users to skip the queues
The Orderella story:
Nobody likes to queue when they’re out socialising; wasting time trying to catch the servers attention instead of spending valuable time with friends or watching a match for instance.
Orderella is attempting to solve this problem with its app which enables consumers to order and pay directly from their smartphones at pubs, bars, restaurants, coffee shops and other venues without needing to queue.
It works for both the public and businesses: Customers get convenience and venues are able to boost sales, increase average order volume and influence consumer behaviour through promotions.
Free for the user, Orderella takes either a commission per transaction or a monthly fixed fee per site from venues and generates additional revenue by advertising customised brand campaigns within the app. It has already established partnerships with leading brands Diageo, Jägermeister and Molson Coors.
Now live in the UK, Ireland, Singapore and New Zealand, the app has 10,000 unique users, 60,000 downloads and 150 venues and brand partnerships.
The remainder of 2016 will see the introduction of further regions and countries and Orderella has teased the addition of new features including being able to split the bill, improved data analytics and ordering drinks for friends.
Why Orderella made our shortlist:
Bringing convenience to thousands of consumers and valuable insights and revenue boosting potential to businesses, everyone benefits from Orderella’s innovative technology as it continues to grow and evolve. The app’s download numbers and global reach make it a strong contender for App of the Year.
