What’s happened in the last year since you entered the Startups Awards?

It’s been a busy time since we won The People’s Choice Award in 2013, with lots of exciting developments. We very recently acquired one of our competitors in the family space, and have been growing our database with new user acquisition strategies and implementing new revenue streams. We are in development to bring out our mobile ready site and have begun working with some great new merchants and new Travel partners.

What’s been the single biggest highlight for the business since winning?

Having the opportunity to expand our offering and proposition and develop new revenue streams. Also broadening the content side of the business, all of these steps are taking us in the right direction to become the one stop shop for ideas and savings for families.

What are you hoping to achieve in the next year or so?

We are really excited about our new mobile ready site which will make interacting with the site so much easier for families on the go. We are also hoping to launch our new App within the year. And growing our opportunities to work with brands on engaging with the family market.

What did winning at the Startups Awards mean to you?

Winning The People’s Champion was a great moment for us. Particularly as it was voted for by the public – it was a fantastic endorsement from our customers that they think we’re doing a good job!

We were up against some really big brands and companies too, some of whom have had massive funding, so that was a real achievement in terms of people power winning, regardless of how big or small you are!

It meant a huge amount to our team, who put such a brilliant amount of effort into LittleBird being the best service it can be for families.

Would you recommend entering awards like this?

Absolutely! It is an exciting boost to your business and for your team. And a fantastic achievement to be in amongst other great start-ups in your field, which all helps to push you to be the best that you can.
