Classified advertising search provider, Adzuna.co.uk, has today disclosed that it has quietly raised £2m investment in a funding round led by Index Ventures, The Accelerator Group and Passion Capital.

Launched in 2011 by Andrew Hunter, listed as One to Watch in the 2012 Young Guns Awards, and Doug Monro, the company brings together millions of classified adverts to enable users to search for a new car, property or job from one website.

With the site demonstrating rapid growth in the past year with expansion into six countries and revenue increasing at 50% per quarter, it has been utilising the funding to support its progress.

The announcement follows the launch of its new tool, Jobsworth, a UK-first service that uses advanced data science techniques to predict the salary of millions of job adverts based on their contents in order to help job seekers know what salary to expect.

Discussing its recent achievements, co-founder Hunter said:

“We’re very happy with Adzuna’s progress over the last two years and well on course for our mission to change the way in which people find jobs, properties and cars.

“Data is a massive focus for our business and we believe arming people with the right kind of stats (like Jobsworth) for free, will change classifieds search for the better in the UK and beyond.”
