Deliveroo, the restaurant meal delivery start-up founded by Young Guns William Shu and Greg Orlowski, has teamed up with New York start-up Maple – which has ceased operations in the city.

Maple is a food delivery start-up that carries out the whole process of the food cycle, from sourcing, to preparing and delivering.

Deliveroo will now integrate Maple's technology into its platform, while some members of the Maple team will join Deliveroo operations in London.

Shu told TechCrunch that the technology will be used to accelerate the growth of Deliveroo editions: a platform that allows restaurants to launch pop-up kitchens to deliver to areas they don't already cover.
