Collstream, co-founded by 2012 Growing Business Young Gun Chris Harrison, has been acquired by competitor business texting company Esendex for an undisclosed amount.

Launched in 2005, Collstream offers strategic text and voice messaging, email, voice response and web payment services to businesses and has offices in Derby, Nottingham, Barcelona, Lisbon, Vienna, Madrid and Melbourne.

Earlier this year the company boasted that it was sending out 10 million text messages a month on behalf of its clients and was expecting to hit turnover of £7m for year-end 2014.

Its purchase by Esendex; a firm which sends texts messages on behalf of customers such as Virgin Media and Ocado, is set to create a business with combined revenues of £25m and the texting specialist plans to target further global expansion.
