The MysteryVibe story:

While it’s been nearly half a century since the sexual revolution of the 1960’s, sex and masturbation are topics still rarely raised in the mainstream media – let alone in an empowering and uplifting way.

Firmly believing that pleasure really is for everyone and something that should be celebrated, sextech start-up MysteryVibe were meticulous during the R&D stage for its flagship sex toy, the Crescendo.

The world’s first body-adapting smart vibrator, the Cresendo can be bent to flex and form to the user’s body and offer countless vibrations via the MysteryVibe app.

Wireless and showerproof, the toy comes in a standard size of 21 cm length and is available in either purple or blue.

Intent on offering a truly personalized pleasure experience, the Shoreditch-based start-up’s toy went through a two-staged design process.

Starting with the traditional, expert-led lab-based product design, MysteryVibe then extended their research to 1,000 real customers, aged between 21 and 72, of all genders and orientations, and based in over 50 countries.

Celebrating sexuality and intimacy asbeautifully natural experiences we can all relate to”, MysteryVibe has shipped over 20,000 of its products to 55 countries worldwide in just under three years.

Having raised £2.6m to date, investors seem equally convinced of MysteryVibe’s mantra that an enlightened and liberal society, is also a safer and happier one.

Why MysteryVibe made our shortlist:

Operating is what’s still considered a taboo industry, MysteryVibe’s mission is more than just ‘selling sex’.

Equally passionate about empowering people through intimacy and knocking down societal constructs, all this and its impressive global reach certainly created a buzz among our judges.
