Following hundreds of entries from new businesses from across the country, Startups.co.uk can confirm that entries are now officially closed for the Startups Awards 2017.

The longest running awards of its kind, running for its 14th year, the Startups Awards celebrates the UK's outstanding start-ups and recognises those businesses with creative concepts, impressive traction, exceptional founders and growth ambitions.

Winning a Startups Award is an indicator of a business' potential and the awards has gained an industry-wide reputation for predicting future success. Its portfolio of past winners have gone on to become fast-growth firms and famous brands such as The Cambridge Satchel Company, Purplebricks, Ella’s Kitchen, Notonthehighstreet.com, and 2016's overall winner Onfido.

Supported by headline sponsor The Start Up Loans Company, alongside bronze sponsors AXA Business Insurance, haysmacintyre and 123-reg, this year's awards promises to be bigger than ever before with 15 awards up for grabs, including two new awards to celebrate social impact businesses and Start Up Loan recipients. The Startups Awards 2017 shortlist will be unveiled on Monday 9 October 2017, when you will then be able to vote for your Startups Awards People's Champion.

The shortlist will be judged on Wednesday 11 October by a stellar panel of business leaders and entrepreneurs from a cross sector of industry. Judges include Liz Earle MBE, Debbie Wosskow OBE, BGF Ventures' Simon Calver, Vita Coco UK CEO Giles Brooke, Emma Sinclair MBE, and PROPERCORN co-founder Cass Stavrou – to name but a few.
