Time's nearly up – the deadline for entries into the Startups Awards 2004 is the end of the week – 5pm on Friday 30th July.

As you probably know, the awards are dedicated to rewarding and celebrating the best business startups in the UK. They represent a unique opportunity for you to gain recognition for the outstanding achievements of your business or team – and the chance to win £5,000 by being crowned Startups Business of the Year.

Due to exceptional response, the deadline has been extended once already, so this really is the last chance.

“We are delighted with the entries so far, but are still looking for other successful small businesses to take part in the awards,” said Marcus Austin, editor-in-chief of Startups.co.uk. “I would urge entrepreneurs who have not already entered the awards to consider putting their names forward.”

With 13 awards covering a range of different categories, from “Retailer of the Year” and “Micro Business of the Year” through to the “Silver Fox Award” there should be a category to suit everyone.

Nominations for “Retailer of the Year”, “On-line Business of the Year”, “Franchisee of the Year” and “Manufacturer of the Year” would be particularly welcome.

To be considered for the awards, your company must meet these three simple criteria:

· Be less than three years old at the time of entry

· Employ no more than 60 people

· Businesses should be privately owned

The ceremony will be held on October 15th.
