Startups Awards winner to speak in Leeds

The winner of last year’s Startups Awards is to speak at our free networking event startupslive in Leeds next week.

Trevor Brocklebank, who took home the award for business of the year in 2008 for Home Instead Senior Care, will be speaking at the Hilton Hotel on 22nd October.

A year after winning the Startups Awards, Home Instead Senior Care has doubled both its turnover and the number of elderly people it provides care for. The company provides a range of care services for older people which allow them to remain in their homes as long as possible instead of going into residential care.

At the time of entering the Startups Awards, Home Instead had 28 offices around the UK which provided more than 1,000 daily hours of care to its clients. The company now plans to get the total number of offices up to 70 in the coming year and Trevor says winning at the Startups Awards has been instrumental in building the company’s reputation.

“It’s a phenomenal endorsement,” he says. “Especially when you look at the calibre of company’s we were up against. When you’re starting out it’s a big leap of faith for people to come to you so to be recognised at such a high level gives customers faith.”
