Placing in this year’s Startups 100 index, Andrew Webster and Nick Telson’s site DesignMyNight is clearly going places. One of a growing number of curated nightlife services available such as YPlan, DesignMyNight differentiates itself with its unstinting emphasis on personalisation – it essentially acts as an online concierge, allowing its users to come up with a tailored night out perfectly suited to their occasion and budget.

Since launch the site has launched in the major UK cities of London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and Brighton, and can boast more than 500 venue partners – from cool new independents to established players like Youngs, Fullers and Callooh Callay. In recognition of the fact that its service depends on the participation of venue owners, Webster and Telson have worked hard at developing a strong business-to-business focus for DesignMyNight, recently launching ‘Collins’, an integrated enquiry and bookings system. With more than 60 bars already signed up within months of its launch, the service is set to bolster the start-up’s prestige even further – making the founding duo definitely ones to watch for next year.
