London’s largest healthy food and juice bar chain Crussh will this week venture into adults-only territory with the launch of its After Dark range of alcoholic smoothies.

Led by managing director and 2004 Growing Business Young Gun Chris Fung, the popular chain, which has 26 London outlets in close proximity to tube and mainline stations, will extend the opening hours of its Boxpark Shoreditch bar, the only location to sell its alcoholic range.

The bar, which will serve the After Dark products from 5pm from Monday to Thursday and 12noon Friday to Sunday, will also sell the company’s range of light bites, salads and hot meals.

At the launch party at Crussh’s Boxpark Shoreditch location, brand ambassador and 2004 Olympic diving silver medallist Leon Taylor described the importance of being able to buy high-energy, healthy food on the move as he launched the alcohol-free Cool Britannia smoothie and frozen yoghurt.

The new low calorie ‘skinny boozie smoothies’ and VIP cocktails – Vodka Berry Blast, Detox Tequila Cactus Smoothie, Aloha-Rum Super Smoothie, Courvoisier Apple Pomegranate Martini, and Peach Passion Bellini  – combine fresh and exotic fruits, low-fat yoghurt, juice, and an alcoholic shot.

In addition, late night customers will be able to buy beer and Fair Trade wines and throughout the Olympic fortnight Crussh’s Boxpark Shoreditch venue will host big screens to keep up with the sporting action. The After Dark initiative is the latest in a series of announcements from Crussh, which turns over in excess of £10m. Last month, the company introduced a new ‘slow release energy’ breakfast range, which Olympian Taylor also launched.

Fung, also a member of the Courvoisier Future 500, a network of influential creatives and entrepreneurs, described the initiative as key to the brand’s future growth. “We’re delighted that Olympic diving medallist, Leon Taylor, Crussh’s ambassador, launched Crussh After Dark and our Cool Britannia Smoothie in time for the Games!”
